Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To arrange and carry out the work you ask for – necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To reply to your questions – our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To keep records we are required to keep by law, such as invoices (Art. 6(1)(c)).
We never sell your data or use it for marketing without your separate consent.
Who we share it with
- Our website host and our email delivery provider, which process data on our behalf to deliver your booking or message.
- Google, only if you choose to load the map on our contact or area pages. Review author photos on our reviews feed are also loaded from Google’s servers.
- The DVSA, when we carry out an MOT test, as required by law.
Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they use safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking emails for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any follow-up, and job and invoice records for as long as the law requires (normally six years for accounting records).
